12 inches of rain fell in 2 hours in Khambhaliya, 18 inches in 8 hours, NDRF team sent, 8 in Ranavav, 7 inches in Porbandar

Ahmedabad. The monsoon has finally frozen across the state. On Sunday, 4 to 18 inches of rain fell on the coasts of Saurashtra and South Gujarat. Some part of Central Gujarat is still empty. However, the meteorological department has issued a red alert in Gujarat for the next two days. In Khambhaliya, the situation was like a thunderstorm on Sunday. In Khambhaliya, 12 inches of water fell in just two hours. The city was in a water-like condition.

On the other hand, Kalyanpur received 5 inches, Lalpur 2.5 inches, Kalawad and Jamjodhpur 2 inches, Bhanwad 1.5 inches, Jodia 1 inch, Jamnagar half an inch and Dwarka half an inch. In Porbandar district, 8 inches of rain fell in Ranavav, 7 inches in Porbandar and 5 inches in Kutiyana. Sutrapada in Gir-Somnath district received 4.28 inches, Veraval, Talala 2.5 inches, Una 2 inches, Kodinar 1.5 inches and Girgarhda 3 inches. While three and a half inches of rain fell in Malia and Visavadar of Junagadh district, two inches in Bhensan, Manavadar, one inch in Keshod, Vanthali, one and half inch in Mendrada, half an inch in Junagadh and Mangrol. Internet service was also disrupted in Dwarka and surrounding areas. 

In Bhavnagar district, there was a slow and universal cloudburst. One and a half inches of rain fell in Mahuva, one inch in Jessore, more than half an inch in Gariadhar, Sihor and Palitana.

In South Gujarat, Valsad taluka received 4 inches, Pardi 4 inches, Vapi 3 and a half inches, Umargam 2 inches, Kaprada 3 inches and Dharampur 1.5 inches. The city of Surat received light rain throughout the day on Sunday after 1 inch of rain fell at night.

Jafrabad in Amreli district received four inches, Khambha three inches, Dhari two and a half inches, Rajulabhai two inches, Bagasara, Savarkundla one and a half inches, Lilia and Wadia five inches and Babra half an inch.

A torrential downpour of 7 inches of water fell on Moti Paneli village in Rajkot district. Apart from this, 1.5 inches of rain fell in Dhoraji, 1 inch in Gondal and 1 inch in Atkot. Zamazam received 2.5 inches of rain in Tankara and Wankaner.

Red alert in Gujarat, orange alert in 4 states including Madhya Pradesh
The meteorological department has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, UP and Gujarat. Besides, there will be a red alert of heavy rains in Kutch and Saurashtra of Gujarat on Monday. Heavy rains have started falling in Saurashtra since Sunday night. The next two days will be heavy.

5 cyclonic circulation in the country, possibility of good rains in Gujarat
At present there are 5 different cyclonic circulations in the country. Apart from that, one monsoon turf extends from Anupgarh, Sikar, Gwalior, Sidhi, Ranchi, Jamshedpur to Haldia, the other turf extends from South Gujarat to Karnataka. Due to this, heavy rains are expected in Gujarat, Odisha, West Bengal, East UP, coastal Andhra in the next 4 days.

A pickup van passing over the Khokhardal river bridge was suddenly pulled into a rushing stream of water. As a result a dumper coming from behind approached and rescued the two occupants, 1 person is still missing.

Three talukas of the state have received 5 to 17 inches of rain while 13 talukas have received 3 to 4 inches of rain. Also 54 talukas have received 1 to 2 inches of rain while 33 talukas have received half to 1 inch of rain.

Rainfall was recorded in 26 out of 33 districts

In the last 24 hours, 26 out of 33 districts of the state have received light to heavy rains. Including Junagadh, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Gir-Somnath, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Amreli, Porbandar, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Surendranagar, Kutch, Valsad, Navsari, Surat, Tapi, Narmada, Bharuch, Dang, Kheda, Dahod, Vadodara, Chhotaudepur, Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Ahmedabad, Aravalli district has received rainfall.
