The scheme has a monthly contribution of Rs. 55 to Rs. 200 depending on the age. If you join the scheme at the age of 18, you will have to contribute Rs 55 per month, Rs 100 at the age of 30 and Rs 200 at the age of 40. If you join this scheme at the age of 18, you will contribute Rs. 660 per annum. On doing so for 42 years, the total investment will be Rs 27,720. After which you will get a pension of Rs. 3000 per month for life. The government will contribute as much as the account holder will contribute.

Under this scheme, people from unorganized sector can open an account or people whose income is less than Rs 15,000. The age limit is 18 to 40 years. If you already have an EPF / NPS / ESIC account, your account cannot be opened. Income should also not be taxable.

Know the rules

The scheme has to be contributed according to different ages. If one joins the scheme at the age of 18, he will have to deposit Rs 55 per month. Similarly, for a 29-year-old, the amount is Rs.
