Tamil Nadu: Firecracker factory blast kills five women on the spot
An explosion at a fireworks factory in Tamil Nadu has killed seven women. While several laborers were wounded. The women who lost their lives included a woman with a factory license.
The woman was making fireworks, during which there was a sudden explosion. Five women died on the spot while two lost their lives during treatment. The incident took place at a firecracker factory in the Cuddalore area of Tamil Nadu.
The condition of the two injured women is serious
There was a big explosion while the women were making fireworks. The blast also set the factory on fire. A large number of firefighters were rushed to the spot. Those injured in the incident have been rushed to a hospital where the condition of the two women is critical.
Chief Minister K. Palaniswami expressed grief over the death and paid tributes. He also announced assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to his family members. Another similar fire broke out in Tamil Nadu in which five members of the same family were burnt to death.
